Application of international humanitarian law during the exercise of prosecutor’s procedural powers in relation to criminal offenses committed in the course of armed conflicts

On January 19, the training course “Application of international humanitarian law during the exercise of prosecutor’s procedural powers in relation to criminal offenses committed in the course of armed conflicts” was completed. During the course following trainings were conducted:

“Application of international humanitarian law in the prosecutor’s work”,

“Peculiarities of procedural guidance of pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings concerning criminal offences committed in the course of armed conflicts”,

“Evidences of criminal offenses committed in armed conflicts.”

Trainers:

Alina Pavliuk – Prosecutor of the Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings on Crimes Committed in the Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and in Armed Conflict, Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings on Temporary Crimes territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and in the terms of armed conflict, the Department of Supervision in Criminal Proceedings for Crimes Committed in the Conditions of Armed Conflict, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine;

Valeriia Melnyk – Prosecutor of the Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings on Crimes Committed in the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopil and in Armed Conflict, Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings on Temporary Crimes Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopil and in the context of armed conflict, the Department of Supervision in Criminal Proceedings for Crimes Committed in the Condition of Armed Conflict, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

Prosecutors mastered the practical aspects of applying the rules and principles of international humanitarian law in conducting procedural guidance in pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings involving crimes committed in armed conflicts.
