On January 18, 2022, the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine hosted a media training for prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). The training was designed jointly with the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine.

Trainer Oksana Monastyrska, a communications expert, imparted her knowledge with prosecutors about communication with the media in various kinds. Participating prosecutors worked out the wording of key messages and their effective delivery, learned to answer problematic questions and respond to unfriendly tactics and crises.

Issues considered in the media training:

• wording of key messages and their effective delivery;
• “bridging” technique;
• classification of complex questions and formulation of answers;
• provocative tactics;
• avoidance of “no comment” position.
