Training course “Application of norms of international humanitarian law in criminal proceedings”

During two days (October 21-22), participants of the training course “Application of international humanitarian law in criminal proceedings” mastered the basic concepts and principles of international humanitarian law for the implementation of procedural powers in criminal offenses committed in armed conflict.

Trainers:

Alina Pavliuk – Prosecutor of the Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings on Crimes Committed in the Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts and in Armed Conflict, Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings on Temporary Crimes territories in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and in the terms of armed conflict, the Department of Supervision in Criminal Proceedings for Crimes Committed in the Conditions of Armed Conflict, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine;

Oleksandr Svynar – Head of the First Division of Procedural Management in Criminal Proceedings for Crimes Committed in the Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts and in Armed Conflict, Department of Supervision and Information and Analytical Work in Criminal Proceedings for Crimes Committed in the Temporarily Occupied Territories and Luhansk oblasts and in the terms of armed conflict, the Department for Supervision in Criminal Proceedings for Crimes Committed in the Condition of Armed Conflict, and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

The trainers together with the prosecutors worked out the peculiarities of the legal qualification of criminal offenses committed in the conditions of armed conflict and improved the skills of application of international humanitarian law during the exercise of procedural powers by the prosecutor.
