The training “Civil asset forfeiture” took place at the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine this week.
On December 13, 14 and 17, 2021, various groups of The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office prosecutors increased their level of professional competence in filing a lawsuit to recognize unjustifiable assets and to recover such assets to the state revenue, furthermore, trainees studied the role of the above-mentioned lawsuit in the litigation.
During the training, the following issues were discussed: concept of civil forfeiture, legislative regulation of civil forfeiture in the legislation of Ukraine, powers of prosecutor; grounds and procedure for the application of civil forfeiture in the United States of America; court consideration of the prosecutor’s claim for unfounded assets and their recovery to the state revenue.
