On 24 February 2022, Russia started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, being part of its aggression against our country commenced in 2014. Europe has not seen armed conflicts of such scale and brutality for decades. Reliable evidence confirms that Russian troops are making indiscriminate attacks including air raids, ballistic missile strikes and bombings. Residential housing, utilities, critical infrastructure are being destroyed all over Ukraine. The United Nations reports at least 240 civilian casualties and 64 deaths in Ukraine as of 26 February 2022. As of 28 February 2022 Ukrainian public authorities report at least 1684 civilian casualties and 352 deaths.
Russia’s leaders do not conceal that the purpose of such barbaric act is to undermine the sovereignty of Ukraine, while Ukraine has been demonstrating for many years that freedom and independence are paramount values of Ukrainians. Every sovereign state must decide its own destiny.
The Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine announced, that Ukraine is an independent and sovereign state, territorial integrity of Ukraine is guaranteed by international law, and only we, the people of Ukraine, can made decisions on domestic and foreign policy of our state.
We, all Ukrainians, including the prosecutors of Ukraine, both men and women – are fighting against the aggression of the Russian Federation with weapons in our hands.
We demand International association of prosecutors, European Judicial Training Network and other foreign prosecutors associations, organizations and educational institutions and personally every and each prosecutor with an urge:
• to exclude Russia’s membership in International association of prosecutors, European Judicial Training Network and other foreign prosecutors associations, organizations and educational institutions;
• to stop any cooperation with prosecutors and prosecutors associations of the Russian Federation who supports or doesn’t openly condemns aggression, until the complete termination of the war in Ukraine.
