The Prosecutior’s Training Center of Ukraine and International Commission on Missing Persons signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On July 21, 2022, Ms.Olesia Otradnova, the Director of the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine, and Matthew Holliday, Director of European Programs at the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

ICMP has been accounting for missing persons for more than  25 years; in particular, it has experience working to address the consequences of the Balkan conflict. It maintains a unique, specialized Online Inquiry Center (OIC) and an Integrated Data Management System (iDMS) that manages all data pertaining to its missing persons process.

Ms. Otradnova noted that currently, during the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, unfortunately, thousands of soldiers and civilians have been classified as missing. Searching for and identifying these missing persons is a very important process that will have to continue for a long time.

Using ICMP’s capabilities, methods and resources will help prosecutors and investigators to carry out criminal proceedings, and thousands of Ukrainians – to search for and identify missing relatives.
