On June 11, 2021, training course “Sentencing and Execution of Punishments, Protection of Human Rights in Prisons and Probation” was completed at the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine. The course consisted of the following trainings: “Priorities of Prosecutorial Supervision of Laws Observance in Places of Imprisonment and Prospects for Its Transformation”, “Prosecutorial Supervision of Laws Observance in pre-trial detention centers and penitentiary institutions”, “Organization of the prosecutor’s activity for laws observance in the field of probation and in resolving issues related to the execution of a sentence”.

For the first time, the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine hosted a training course “Sentencing and Execution of Sentences, Protection of Human Rights in Prisons. Probation” with an emphasis on improving the efficiency of the prosecutor’s functions in sentencing and execution of sentences, protection of human rights in prisons.
For three days, prosecutors developed skills related to prosecutorial oversight of law enforcement in places of detention, as well as skills in determining the position on sentencing in criminal proceedings and on the release of persons from sentencing.
The training was designed to address a number of practical issues. The issue of planning inspections to supervise the execution of court decisions in criminal proceedings, the on time finding of violations and taking, on a case-by-case basis, full measures to eliminate them is relevant.
