On October 19, the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine hosted a panel discussion on the topic: “Investigation of crimes under Articles 201, 263, 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Presentations”.
Considering the internal situation in Ukraine over the past 7 years, it is advisable to analyze the potential risks of organized crime in the field of illegal manufacturing and trafficking of firearms. And, accordingly, the urgency of intensifying law enforcement agencies to manufacture, stop and prosecute perpetrators, who commit crimes connected with illegal circulation of the firearm, ammunition to it, explosives, explosive devices (Articles 201, 263, 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The panelists discussed the problematic issues of qualification of crimes with smuggling of firearms and ammunition, the peculiarities of the investigation of crimes under Articles 201, 263, 273-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and others.
At the event, draft guidelines for the investigation of crimes under Articles 201, 263, 263-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were presented to prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine and other law enforcement officials.
Authors of the draft guidelines: Mykola Khavroniuk, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv” and Ruslan Shekhavtsov, Candidate of Law, Acting Dean of Faculty 1 of the Institute for Training Specialists for Lviv National Police State University of Internal Affairs in Lviv.
