Modern approach to the prosecutor’s training: Launching the new training space

On December 14, 2021, Iryna Venediktova – Prosecutor General of Ukraine – took part in the official opening of a modern training space at the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine. In her welcoming speech to the prosecutorial community, Ms. Venediktov noted: “We, the prosecutors, are the people who work for the good of the country. Let’s keep that in mind.”

Olesia Otradnova – Director of the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine – also congratulated guests and colleagues on the opening of the training space and expressed hope that from now on the training of prosecutors and civil servants will gain even more momentum, as openness, comfort, visualization and modern lighting are important components of the educational process.

The support of the Department of Law Enforcement of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine was aimed at the creation of a modern training space in the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine.

Olesia Otradnova said: “This cooperation has started recently and it is precious. Thanks to the cooperation, we have the constant support of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine for Education Reform, Professional Development and Innovation. A key project has been implemented – “Training Space.”

Sarah Langenkamp – Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section in Ukraine – emphasized the fruitful and promising cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Training Center of Ukraine.

Seven training rooms, conceptually integrated to improve the professional and personal skills of prosecutors and civil servants, are the result of a year and a half of hard work to create a new place that is able support the professionalism of prosecutors.

The distinctiveness of the training space lies in its versatility and convenience. Five trainings may be conducted simultaneously. A multicast videoconferencing system has been installed for easy communication with the regions. Training rooms are equipped with multifunctional projectors and projection screens, radio systems with button microphones for media communication trainings.

There are also comfortable conditions for online training, for example, special online lecture-hall with a camera for streaming training of trainers. In addition, there is a room for trainers in the training space, where they can prepare for trainings and communicate with colleagues.

We are grateful for the continued support of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
