During the three days, participants had the opportunity to improve their skills in public speaking, which contribute to a competent, clear, understandable message to the audience. The training course was designed to form an affective model parameter of the prosecutor’s speech and, eventually, to influence the prosecutor’s position in court in the best way possible.
Training “Prosecutor’s speech tools” (14.02.2022)

It all started with an “inventory” of the participants’ public broadcasting workshop, conducted by trainers Svitlana Bronikova and Raisa Lenda.
After the workshop, prosecutors practiced the use of verbal tools of public speech, recognizing the importance of competent application of modern Ukrainian language in their public speech, and performed logical-intonational analysis of the text of public speech, placing logical emphasis and giving intonation expressiveness.
The first day of training course ended with the test of the acquired skills – the formation of requirements for the master of public speaking and requirements for the text of public speaking.

Participants got acquainted with the cognitive and affective model parameters of the prosecutor’s speech – axioms of biology, emotion formula, equation with the unknown, analyzed the structure of public speech, text structure of public speech, structure of time and space of public speech.
Prosecutors also mastered the methods of relieving internal tension before a public speech, practiced skills of mastering paraverbal tools of interaction in the communicative process (voice, tempo, timbre, pauses, etc.), vocal apparatus (articulation, breathing, voice) and worked out nonverbal model parameters of prosecutor’s speech, gestures, congruence, metamessages and vibes.
“Supporting the position of the prosecution in court” (16.02.2022)

At the end of the training course, participants improved their skills in court with an introductory speech and a request for precautionary measures, which contributes to the quality of support for public prosecution.
To this end, together with trainers Andrii Kasian and Andrii Perov, prosecutors addressed the content and structure of the introductory speech in criminal proceedings, the procedure and scope of evidence examination, presentation of evidence of the prosecution, which will confirm the circumstances set out in the indictment, realized the importance of information and the adversarial principle in criminal proceedings.
The participants and trainers also focused on the content and structure of the prosecutor’s request for precautionary measures, argumentation of the prosecution’s position, procedural, moral, ethical and psychological features of the prosecutor’s speech, use of public speaking techniques and methods.
And, of course, practice … In video format, everyone had the opportunity to give a public introductory speech, a request for precautionary measures and get feedbacks from trainers.
